1. Introduce Round Table members

2. Set Goals and Objectives for the coming year --- The group developed the goals and objectives for the coming year. See the linked document.

ACTION: Goals and Objectives will be posted to the website.

3. Nominations for 2003-2004
Nominations are due by the September ULA Board meeting. LIRT members at large will solicit potential candidates. We will also send an email request to the LIRT general members.

ACTION: Jeanne will establish a LIRT listserv and post a call for nominations via email.

4. Program Board and Fall Conference (do we want to participate? I have an idea for this)
Jeanne will be the representative on the Program Board.
LIRT will offer to co-sponsor with HEART the Environmental Toxins: Resources That Could Save Your Life program for the Fall Conference on September 27 in Brigham City.

ACTION: Jeanne will attend the Program Meeting on July 19 and present idea.

5. What to do with the website?
We will work on getting a Web presence as per our goals and objectives.

6. Should we revise the Library Instruction Award?
ACTION: Jeanne will investigate and report back to the group.

Other ACTION items:
  • Jeanne will send a message to the LIRT members asking "What do you consider to be the burning issues in instruction?"
  • Jeanne will ask at the Program meeting about money for speakers.
  • ALL: Identify the best instruction websites to be linked from the LIRT Web page.
  • Ann is willing to help out with HTML and the website.

Next meeting: Friday, October 11, 2002 at 4:00 p.m. Place to be announced.

    Agenda:
  1. Burning Issues as relating to the Annual Program. Develop a list of potential programs and speakers.
  2. Professional development of instruction librarians. How do we develop our teaching skills?
