New ideas
- Amy volunteers doing a poster session for May 2005 using National Mental Health Association Mental Health Month Guide. HeaRT will support Amy's poster session with HeaRT funds. NMH sells a whole poster kit with materials to hand out as well. The cost is approximately $16. 00. Amy will not need volunteers for this poster session.
Previous ideas
- Extreme Librarians. A program about some librarians that are extreme. Faith volunteered to work out what could be done. Sally volunteered to send out an email to the entire ULA list to find more extreme librarians.
This idea is approved and will be submitted by Sally Patrick as a panel discussion program. Eve said that state librarians, Jane and K.C. were excited about the program and had mentioned making posters and/or bookmarks to hand out at ULA. Sally did send out an email to ULA list and received no formal response. Sally will work with Faith and Eve.
- Active Living Everyday. Erica had emailed to Dr. Michael Lamonte at the Cooper Institute (formerly of LDS Hospital) and he said he would be happy to come up and do a talk. Erica will check on what his speaker fee would be. He is from Utah and so has a connection that could be included in the program. Eric and Sally have volunteered to lead this program.
Erica spoke to Dr. Michael Lamonte and he required only travel and lodging with no speaker fee. Jeanne suggested lobbying to ULA to fund Dr. Lamonte's travel and lodging. The suggested title was "Does Your Mouse Get More Action than You? Active Living Everyday" Everyone liked what Erica wrote to promote the program and want the idea submitted as a ULA program.
- Resistance to exercise. If possible show the "family" version of the movie Supersize Me and lead a discussion after the movie or segue into the talk with Dr. Lamonte at the Cooper Institute.
The family version comes out in January, but it is still approx. an hour. Sally suggested that maybe this could be a poster? Nothing was set for this idea but it was suggested as a segue into Dr. Lamonte's program.
- Current issues and critical thinking:
*How to evaluate what is going on with drug companies
*Scholarly Publishing
*Trends in Nutrition-Low carb, etc

Valeri and Nancy are putting this together and it will be a panel discussion covering several issues. Ceres Birkhead, Chair of NPRT was contacted and was thrilled to co-sponsor. Valeri & Nancy will work with Ceres.
