Speaker: Paul Smart 1-hour presentation Dates: Wednesday, May 17 or Thursday, May 18 Target audience: Public Librarians Track: Reference Title: Librarians often get asked for help with genealogical/family history questions. Various areas of the free website familysearch.org can help with these questions and will be demonstrated. Specifically question negotiation and how to do it areas of the website will be explored. Librarians will learn how to better help their genealogical patrons with research in nearly every part of the world. Speaker: Paul Smart Several items on the TO-DO list: We need volunteers to introduce the speakers in St. George for Unpuzzling Heritage Quest. Mountain Meadows: The suggestion was made to have Nola and Janet work out the plan for the Friday visit to the Mountain Meadows site. Nola was nominated because it was suggested that she knows about the site and can work with Janet to outline the visit. It also has been suggested that we visit Hamblin and Brigham Young homes. Perhaps one of these can serve as the meeting place for the trip out to Mountain Meadows. Lastly, the suggestion was made to invite Paul Smart to speak about Whats New at the FHL? Rather than have Paul speak at 8 or 9am on Wednesday or Thursday, the suggestion was that Paul speak prior to touring the homes and driving to the site. Thoughts? I am willing to contact Paul if you agree with this suggestion. And once the Friday schedule is set, we need to advertise! And a flyer needs to be created. Speaker in March? Would you provide feedback about offering a night session downtown to GENRT members and the greater community during the Genealogical Computing Conference in March? The suggestion was the Curt Witcher be asked to speak Wednesday night on a topic of interest to librarians who help patrons with genealogy. We have the funds for an honorarium and refreshments. Suggestions for holding the session includes the FHL or checking into using the auditorium at the SLPL. What are your thoughts about this? Are there other issues that need attention? #%&;<=g h i q 2OP潰񰜰|qd\d\dRd\qh>~OJQJ^Jh>~OJQJhX*h>~OJQJ^JhX*h>~OJQJh:.ph>~5OJQJhXOJQJ^Jh>~OJQJ^JhvOJQJ^Jh:.pOJQJ^JhvhvOJQJ^Jh:.ph:.p5OJQJ^Jhv5OJQJ^Jh:.ph:.p5H*OJQJ^Jh:.p5OJQJ^Jh:.phv5OJQJ^J&<=i j 4 F i !
