The Childrens Services Round Table (CSRT) of ULA has new leadership: Anne Nabaum, chair; Donna Cardon, vice-chair; Sharon Kuttler, secretary; and Janell Pearce-Mattheus, member at large. We met on June 9th and selected three objectives for 2006-2007. We would like to develop non-conference programs that will benefit youth services librarians across the state. We also plan to maintain the CSRT portion of the ULA website as a valuable resource for Childrens Services Librarians. Additionally, we hope to plan sessions for the 2007 ULA Conference that will address important concerns of childrens librarians. Non-conference programs In years past CSRT has sponsored non-conference programs to enhance our service to children, network and share ideas. They have mostly taken place in Salt Lake City or along the Wasatch Front. This year CSRT is exploring new ways to include librarians in all regions of the state in high quality presentations and networking opportunities. We welcome ideas from librarians throughout the state about what kinds of programs or opportunities would be of most value and interest. CSRT website There are hundreds of us wonderful librarians who serve children throughout the state. All of us have ideas, experience, and information to share that would make our jobs easier, more current, exciting and fun, along with improving library service to the kids of Utah! Our hope is that the ULA/CSRT website can become a forum where Utah librarians can share knowledge and ideas in an on-going basis. We plan to develop one section of the website for program ideas and another for an index of program performers especially attuned to kids and libraries. We also hope to enlarge the existing collection of story time ideas. We would love input about other resources you would like to see on the CSRT website. 2007 Conference Although the 2006 ULA conference was just a month ago, it is already time to be thinking about next years conference. This year CSRT sponsored several wonderful sessions and we want the 2007 conference to be even better! CSRT would like to know the main concerns of Utahs childrens librarians, and what kind of conference sessions you would like to attend next year. (If you were at the 2006 conference, please let us know what you particularly enjoyed, or otherwise, about the 2006 CSRT sponsored sessions.) If you have any ideas, for non-conference programs, CSRT website content or presentations/presenters for the 2007 ULA conference, please email the current CSRT chair, Anne Nabaum at HYPERLINK "mailto:anabaum@slco.lib.ut.us" anabaum@slco.lib.ut.us . We will be meeting again in the middle of July and wed love to hear from you before then! Anne Nabaum CSRT Chair Draper Library 1136 E.
