Business Round Table (BURT)

The objectives of the Business Round Table are:

1. Goal: To provide professional development opportunities with content geared toward business resources for business librarians or other reference employees interested in business reference.
   • Objective: Plan and present one program at the ULA Fall Conference.
   • Objective: Plan and present at least one program at the ULA Annual Conference.
   • Objective: Create a list of business resources available in Utah and identify significant business issues that will be later presented as a topic for the ULA Annual Conference.
2. Goal: To publicize the round table and attract members.
   • Objective: Send a welcome email to all the business round table members
   • Objective: Publicize the times and locations of our meetings. Add our meeting to the ULA calendar.
   • Objective: create and maintain a Utah Business Reference Round Table homepage (as part of the ULA homepage) with the intent to keep members informed and also to attract new members. The following will be included in the website:
     • A list of members that will include their job title and area(s) of expertise in business
     • A list of current officers, agenda items, meetings calendar, and other important information.
     • The minutes of each meeting
     • A list of free business resources available on the internet.
     • Other items
3. Goal: To create a smooth transition between outgoing and incoming officers and encourage involvement of the membership.
   • Objective: Schedule a business meeting during the annual conference.
   • Objective: Publish the annual report on the website.
   • Objective: Prepare a flyer to inform Annual Conference attendees of our programs.
4. Goal: To insure continued activity of the round table.
   • Objective: Present a slate of competent professionals for the Business Round Table election roster.
