I am very excited about the opportunity to serve you, the members of the Utah Library Association. I have been in many different offices through out my years of being a member, everything for chair of the Public Library Section to chair of Continuing Education to secretary of Government Documents Roundtable. I have always enjoyed my association with my fellow members and I have grown greatly as I have served others.

I am excited about this year. We have an execellent group of officers working on wonderful programs for both our fall and annual conference. Kevin Pendleton , Weber County Library, is the new chair of Continuing Education and his committee, along with the Programing Board under the direction of Eileen Longsworth, have planned an excellent fall conference session on Friday, October 1st at the Salt Lake Community College. Please mark your calendars.

Our annual convention is planned for May 17th through the 19th at the Odgen Egyptian Conference Center. Our conference hotel will be the Odgen Marriott Hotel (which used to be the Ogden Park Hotel). They have given us a very good rate and we hope that many of you will stay and enjoy Ogden. My newly appointed conference chair is Randy Mueller , Weber County Library. We are looking forward to your submission of program ideas by early September. The form for submission will be available on the webpage. You need not be an officer to submit a conference program idea. The theme is expanding our communities...embracing our partners...enriching our profession.
