General Membership Meeting

Minutes

Welcome
Susan Hamada welcomed those in attendance and opened the meeting at 9:05 am as the ULA Annual General Membership Meeting. Kayla Willey was announced as the incoming ULA President for 2002-2003. Susan Hamada handed the gavel to Kayla Willey.

Election Results
Kayla Willey announced the election results. David Hales has been elected the Vice President/President Elect. The full slate of elected officers was announced as it is currently posted on the ULA website.

Financial Report
Shannon Reid presented a report of the income and payouts for the fiscal year June 2001-May 2002. Included with the hard copy of these minutes is the full report titled "Net Worth Report."

Incoming President's Message Kayla Willey announced her theme for the upcoming term of her presidency. She will be using the ALA @ your library campaign with "Catch the Big Information Fish @ Your Library." The Annual conference will be held at the South Towne Expo Center May 7-9, 2003.

Open Mic for Questions
Susan Hamada opened the meeting for questions from the general membership.
Only one question was brought to the floor:
Will there be a resurgence of the Great Issues Forum?
Susan Hamada responded that the Great Issues Forum will return in the fall headed by Leslie Haas. A date has not yet been set but the topic will center around CIPA.

Susan Hamada called for more questions but none were brought forward.

Announcements The PR Committee made an announcement to the membership to stop by the round table center in the registration area to add to badges a designation of those round tables to which each member belongs, to get information about joining round tables and to enter to win a free one-year ULA membership.

The meeting concluded at 9:15 am.
