ULA/MPLA MEMBERS!

MPLA Membership Winners At ULA!!

At the ULA conference in May, the Mountain Plains Library Association held a drawing for ten free one-year memberships. Winners included: Molly Youngkin of the Eccles Health Sciences Library, Gillian Waring-Greatorex of the Sandy Salt Lake County Library, Jackie Hansen from the Weber County Library, Catherine McIntyre from UVSC, Deb Greathouse from the Delta City Library, Jay Swenson from Stansbury Park, Burt Barnard of Stevens Henager College, Curly Jones from the Marriott Library, Virginia Rasmussen from the Weber County Library, and Marcia Cheney from Utah State University.
MPLA/NDLA/SDLA Annual Conference Coming Up

The Mountain Plains Library Association, North Dakota Library Association, and South Dakota Library Association will be holding a combined "Triconference" in Fargo, North Dakota, October 3-5, 2002. The Ramada Plaza Suites is the site for this conference. There are program submission forms available on the Conference Web Site. There will be lots more information coming up, both at the Conference web site and in the ULA Newsletter, so stay tuned!

SORT (Staff Organizations Round Table)will be celebrating its 65th anniversary in Atlanta, GA during the ALA meeting this summer. MPLA Leadership Institute In November

A terrific library leadership institute is offered by Mountain Plains Library Association November 10-14 at Ghost Ranch, New Mexico. Two applicants from each of the twelve member states will be selected, with application deadline June 15.
Candidate qualifications: MLS or equivalent, less than 10 years post-master's work in a library related job, current member of ULA, leadership experience in any capacity.
As of June 1, no one from Utah had applied. Excellent opportunity for anyone who might be interested! Go to the MPLA web site for information and application form.

Health Round Table Offers List Of Anthax Web Resources

With the growing concern over Anthrax exposure and infection, the Health Round Table has prepared a short list of "best, most reliable" resources available on the Web. There are sites with consumer information, sites appropriate for health professionals, and a bibliography for librarians. Please share this information with your colleagues and patrons.
