Come to our 2011 ULA Conference Programs:
May 12, 11:00 AM: Converting AACR2 Media Records to RDA
This presentation is geared toward the library paraprofessional who copy catalogs audio-visual materials. Viewing PowerPoint slides, he/she will learn to identify the fields that will need to be changed in an existing AACR2 audio-visual record if RDA becomes the new cataloging standard. Field by field, we will take an existing AACR2 record and show how it will look as it changes into an RDA record. We will cover DVD's, streaming video, sound recordings and playaways. Examples and handouts of the PowerPoint presentation will be given to everyone attending.

May 12, 2:00 PM: The Sky’s the Limit: Support Staff Possibilities
Library support staff will be informed about possibilities of state, regional and national opportunities that await them. Participation may include the ULA Certificate of Achievement Program, participation in ULA LPSSRT, ALA LSSIRT, COLT, workshops and conferences and other opportunities designed specifically for support staff.

May 13, 2:30 PM: Current Research in Utah Libraries
The winners of the library paper competition for 2010 will present their research. We will have one professional and one paraprofessional paper winner. A Q/A session will follow the presentations. This will be a great chance for library staff to engage with other Utah librarians.
