Welcome to the Utah Library Association
Annual Conference 2005, The Times They Are A Changin'. Indeed,
the incredible speed at which libraries and their communities
are changing can feel overwhelming. The changes in the social
fabric of our local and regional library community are creating
new challenges for each of us. Are you facing issues like:
Funding and resource development? Patron confidentiality? Intellectual
freedom? Staff shortages? Communication concerns? Space planning?
Relevancy to your community? Increasing employee morale? Burnout?
If so, this year's program
may just have the insight and illumination that you're looking
for. Many book sessions are also available this year as we discuss
award winners and favorites. Is technology your bag? You will
find workshops that will challenge and inspire you. Cataloging,
family history, exercise, reference, readers advisory; they're
all included. The 2005 Conference has something for everyone!
National speaker and corporate
trainer, Cheewa James will open our conference with a high energy,
motivating presentation entitled, "Climb Off Dead Horses:
Mastering Change." Author and action figure model Nancy Pearl
will be our guest speaker at the Thursday lunch. Don't miss these
terrific speakers.
Great workshops, Great friends,
Great food = a great conference!
Change your future and be
a part of the ULA 2005 Annual Conference.
